My Favorite Spots to Visit in Brantford!
By Agent Nicole Slade – Real Estate Sales Representative
For the past 4 months our team has been listing our favourite places to visit with family & friends in Brantford and the surrounding area. We’ve covered places to go if you’ve got young kids, if you love the outdoors, if you’re bored and want something quick & fun to do, and now it’s my turn to let you in on my favorite go-to spots! So buckle your seatbelts! Here we go!
Camp 31 – This one is a real hidden gem, so I’m kind-of worried about letting this cat outta the bag! (This will just be our little secret, okay?) This place is a barbecue heaven with ribs and real southern bbq. They’ve even won awards for their special sauce, which you can pick up a bottle or two when you’re dining here. Don’t forget unlimited wings on Mondays! You can find Camp 31 at 22 Paris Road. Just look for ‘Mater!
The Burford Bakery – We’re going to continue with the delicious food theme here, but this time I’m talking to YOU. Yes, you there, with the sweet tooth! My kids have been having their birthday cakes made at the Burford Bakery for years now and I’m impressed with their work every single time. Hand-painted and decorated cakes, and they’re super talented. But more than cakes, this shoppe has everything you’d find at a traditional bakery too. Check them out!
The Windmill – Everyone in this area automatically knows what you mean when you say you’re taking a bike ride to “The Windmill”. Tucked away in the village of Mt. Pleasant, this great shop features novelty gifts, ice cream, baked goods, and a restaurant filled with delicious home cooking for breakfast and lunch. You’re going to LOVE the fresh bread that they bake every day!
Brantwood Farms Fall Festival – Everybody loves Brantwood Farms for their delicious apples and pie… but have you ever come out for their Fall Festival? Face painting, pony rides, pumpkin bowling, a cornmaze, hayrides… you can even do some apple slingshots! There’s a ton of fun for families to enjoy every Saturday and Sunday afternoon in October. Pick a sunny day and see how much fun you can have at the farm!
West Brant Walking Trails – This is the month of changing leaves and beautiful colours out in full show. Take an afternoon and discover some trails in your neighbourhood! Brantford is lucky to have many walking trails that weave in and out of neighbourhoods, but my favourites are the West Brant trails. These range from being paved, to gravel or woodchip covered and are accessible from various little paths around the west end of the city. You’ll feel like you’re on a big adventure through the wildnerness, but in reality you’re just steps from home!
So there you go! We’ve given you a ton of places to visit no matter what you’re interested in! Our community is so diverse and has so many neat and interesting places to check out when you have spare time – maybe we’ll see you out there! Happy exploring!
